Marmomac, the leading international exhibition dedicated to marble and natural stone scheduled 27-30 September in Verona, renews its vocation for business, culture and training by presenting a rich schedule of initiatives aimed at professionals, architects and designers, alongside internationally accredited professional training.
Culture of natural stone in the round, in an area, The Plus Theatre, conceived to narrate and inspire the use of this material with workshops on design, architecture and university experimentation, in the presence of the authors of the cultural projects that can be admired in Hall 10.
In fact, in addition to the large immersive stage, the five cultural exhibitions that guide exhibitors and visitors through a tale of the stone material and its uses through a path that ideally relates the entire production cycle, from the block to the final product, demonstrating how natural stone lends itself to a more or less complex use in different sectors and what its future developments may be through the visions of design and architecture, art, universities and important furnishing brands.
The programme of The Plus Theatre includes talks accredited by the professional associations of architects in Italy, the United Kingdom (RIBA) and the United States (AIA) with case studies of architecture and design, debates on the relationship between technology and art, as well as award ceremonies and in-depth discussions on technology, trends, sustainability and markets. Marmo+Tech, a stage for dissemination and comparison where companies from the machinery and tools areas present technical innovations at the service of stone workers, returns, and Marmo+Press, a programme of conferences organised by international technical publications, makes its debut.
For the 56th edition of the event, in addition to the events scheduled at The Plus Theatre, open to all visitors, there is also an important opportunity for architects attending the exhibition: the chance to take part in the training sessions of the “Stone&Design” programme, three days of meetings at the exhibition on topics ranging from design aspects to those more closely linked to stone technology and processing, usually reserved for the activities of international delegations of 50 architects and designers invited to Verona thanks to an agreement between the exhibition, Confindustria Marmomacchine and ICE-Italian Trade Agency.
As highlighted also by the recent survey that Marmomac commissioned on the perception of marble by Italians, in fact, knowledge on the use of this material is still relative, and unknown even to many professionals are its potential and limits, and it is necessary to finally dispel some beliefs that see it as a difficult material in terms of use, maintenance and aesthetics.
