‘Festa dell’Architetto’ 2021, awarded two prestigious prizes of the National Council of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservators to give visibility to the architects who have distinguished themselves for the enhancement of the culture of the project and its social and civil function.
After a meticulous selection, the jury chaired by Jette Cathrin Hopp of Studio Snøhetta has decreed the two winners:
– Ida Origgi and Franco Tagliabue of ifdesign, for the Laboratory and socio-educational center in Erba (Como) receive the “Italian Architect 2021” award. The project is a center used for activities aimed at learning and autonomy of guests with cognitive problems that winds in optimal and functional spaces that give the work a social value of wide relevance.
–Francesco Manzoni and Paolo Manzoni of a25architetti, for “Il Rifugio del Gelso” in Montevecchia (Lecco) receive the award “Young Talent of Italian Architecture 2021”. The project involves the re-functionalization of an old farm building through traditional techniques and materials that bring the visitor closer to rural life.
During the award ceremony, which took place in Venice, at Cà Giustinian, headquarters of La Biennale, were also awarded four Mentions:
– to the winning project of the “Italian Architect 2021” award, for the category “New Construction Works”;
– to Accademia Cusanus, Bressanone (Bolzano), project by Sandy Attia and Matteo Scagnol – MoDusArchitects, for the category “Restoration or Recovery Works”.
– to the Museo dell’Opera del Duomo of Pisa, project by Studio Guicciardini & Magni Architetti – Piero Paolo Guicciardini, Marco Magni, Nicola Capezzuoli, Edoardo Botti, Giuseppe Lo Presti, Pierandrea Martinelli and Maria Cristina Rizzello, for the category “Installation or Interior Design”;
-to the Requalification of Piazza XXV Aprile in Gorla Minore (Varese), project by Paolo Belloni and Mario Bonicelli, of PBeB-Paolo Belloni Architetti and MBA and Partners, for the category “Works in Open Spaces, Infrastructures, Landscapes”.
