Chef Massimo Bottura chooses CookingRAK

CookingRAK is the new product by RAK Ceramics, chosen by Massimo Bottura, the well-known 3 Michelin star chef for his new restaurant Al Gatto Verde. CookingRAK is an exclusive invisible induction hob designed to create a multifunctional kitchen space ideal for everyday use. CookingRAK presents the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality with its hidden induction system fully integrated into the cooktops, which can be conveniently operated via remote control system and on mobile phones through a dedicated app.

Pioneering the use of the new system will be the 3 Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, who has chosen it for his new adventure in the Emilian countryside “Al Gatto Verde”, the restaurant located in the courtyard of the Acetaia Maria Luigia, restored in the last year, which now houses 1400 barrels of traditional balsamic vinegar dating back to the period 1910-1980, alongside contemporary works of art.
CookingRAK and Chef Bottura together will be the protagonists of a campaign dedicated to innovation and beauty.
Now,” says Massimo Bottura, “imagine this beautiful, essential, natural surface on which you can cut, cook, clean together and, at the same time, eat around it. You can have your team around you and your guests and friends there in front of you, sitting and eating while you cook and at the end, you share a table. Sometimes, evolution is invisible”.
CookingRAK is food safe and easy to clean. It has been developed for exclusive use with 14.5 mm thick Maximus 135.5×305 cm porcelain stoneware slabs, which are heat and scratch resistant and made of non-porous material that does not harbour mould and bacteria.
Without compromising on cooking quality, CookingRAK also uses less energy than conventional electric and gas systems. In addition, the induction system does not cause the surrounding worktop to heat up, because it works by using electromagnetic currents that only heat the pans placed on the hob.
There are two practical ways to control CookingRAK: the wired remote control or its dedicated app, which you can use to turn the system on and off, adjust the heat and set timers.
Thinking about this new hob,” continues Chef Bottura, “first of all I think about beauty. The natural materials, the clean shapes, the simple lines. Creating something beautiful is extremely difficult, especially in the kitchen. You have to create something that is functional in relation to what you have to do but also make it simple: that is the most complicated thing. In spaces where you cook, technology is extremely important. Without technology, there is nothing”.

Leonardo de Muro, Vice President of RAK Ceramics, said, “With the launch of CookingRAK, our goal was to create multifunctional kitchen spaces that are versatile, safe to use without compromising the aesthetics of your home. The CookingRAK system is the perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality with the added convenience of digital controls, a true invisible evolution for the modern kitchen.”
To make it easier to locate cooking points on the worktop, RAK Ceramics can customise the system with special markings in six different variants. This ensures compatibility with any style of kitchen while maintaining the quality and absorbency of the slabs.
Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, CookingRAK offers a wide selection of effects that naturally complement any style. The combination of colours carefully selected by the style department satisfies the diverse preferences of modern customers by embracing the latest trends. Five ranges – Marble, Stone, Concrete, Metal and Unicolour – for a harmonious match to any kitchen, whether modern, classic or rustic.
