Casa di Langa

Casa di Langa, owned by the American company Gruppo Krause, headed by president and CEO Kyle J., is the new sustainable luxury hotel that will open in spring 2021 in the heart of the Langhe.

The hotel bases its image on respect for nature and environmental sustainability, ideals that are reflected in the inclusion of systems such as a recycled water irrigation system, geothermal and photovoltaic systems for heating, as well as an operating system aimed at eliminating the use of disposable plastic.

The realisation of the project was possible thanks to the collaboration between the two Milan-based teams GaS Studio and Parisotto + Formenton Architetti and their consolidated experience in various sectors, including luxury and hospitality, in charge of architecture and interior design.

Surrounded by the spectacular landscape of the region, Casa di Langa recalls traditional architecture, promoting refined Italian simplicity, where the chromatic nuances of the natural outdoor environment are reflected in the locally sourced materials and precious furnishing fabrics.
The architects were inspired by the hazelnut grove, the orchard, the vegetable garden and the view of the vineyards and integrated these elements into the design created for the resort.
From an architectural point of view, the new building is set on a hillside and is divided into three main C-shaped wings around a central courtyard, conceived as a garden sloping down towards the valley, with a series of large terraces. The porticoes, the external balconies, protected by brick filters, the roofs made of brick tiles, recall the local vernacular architecture, interpreted through a contemporary approach.
Casa di Langa also houses a varied selection of paintings and sculptures, by Italian and American artists, located both in the interior areas of the building and in the surrounding grounds.

The Langhe region is part of the UNESCO World Heritage for its wine and excellent cultivation. This is why Casa di Langa bears witness to its wine-making traditions, celebrating excellent wines such as Barolo and Barbaresco, and fine foods such as the white truffle of Alba.

During their stay, the hotel will offer guests a selection of authentic experiences: traditional cooking classes, tastings and lessons on the history of wine in the Fàula restaurant’s cellar, truffle hunting with experts in the field, or guided tours of the property’s art collections.
