PLATFORM architecture and design launches the call for the selection of the 80 projects that will be published within the publication BEST HOUSES DESIGN SELECTION and that will be displayed in an exhibition during the Genova Design Week, which will be held from 21st to 25th May 2025.
After the success of the Volumes dedicated to Interior Design, Future Living, Exhibition, International Houses and Contemporary Hotels, the PLATFORM BEST SELECTION Series, grows with the new publishing initiative conceived, in conjunction with the next edition of Genova Design Week 2025, to give visibility and value to Italian architects and interior designers through a selection of projects of single or multi-family houses built in Italy and in the world.
The BEST HOUSES DESIGN SELECTION publication, which will collect 80 projects by as many Italian authors, will investigate the ways of living, selecting projects of houses intended as an object composed of the container (built) and the content (interior).
Single-family houses are understood as projects for villas, cottages – hence not flats – including interior and exterior design. Multi-family projects are defined as houses for up to two families, thus not including apartment blocks or residential complexes.
Projects can be new builds or refurbished. more than one project can also be submitted, the PLATFORM jury will select only one project from each studio.
As in previous experiences, the 80 projects will also be included in an Exhibition that will be set up at the prestigious Antica Borsa di Genova in Piazza De Ferrari, for the entire duration of Genova Design Week 2025, from 21st to 25th May.
Following the inauguration, which will take place on 22nd May at the Palazzo della Borsa Vecchia in Genoa, the PLATFORM Architecture Festival will take place on 23rd and 24th May 2025, during which the 80 leading designers will be called upon to give a speech, during which they will talk about their project in the Exhibition and their vision on the theme of living design.
The coincidence of the exhibition with the Genova Design Week, together with an intense promotion activity on media and social networks, will offer the selected authors a highly relevant media visibility on a national and international level.
The application for the selection of projects is totally free of charge and will remain open until 30th January 2025.
