After the recent shows in Milan and Alba the Best Italian Interior Design Selection project, a publishing venture created with the intention of presenting a snapshot of the state of the art of interior design planning by Italian designers, continues its itinerant journey.
Thanks to the support of IMM Internazionale Marmi Macchine and with the Patronage of the Province of Carrara Order of Architects, the book and the exhibition will next stop in Carrara with a presentation that will take place starting at 6.00 pm at the Chamber of Commerce on June 1stand the exhibition that will continue until Sunday 9thJune and which is part of the activities that make up the Carrara Downtown Week 2019 program, an event organized by IMM.
After a month-long open call, more than 400 candidates were presented to the editorial office, and the projects were selected after a rigorous evaluation process by Simona Finessi and Angelo Dadda, Platform Architecture and Design Publishers with valuable advice and scientific supervision by Luca Molinari, an internationally renowned architectural critic and, from edition 18, also Editorial Director of Platform Architecture and Design.
“The call launched by Platform to bring together a new collection of Italian interiors is the result of the need to constantly update and understand an increasingly diverse overall picture, because it covers the myriad different sections of the Italian landscape and the numerous different companies it manages to embrace. [ …] The advantage for interiors of this portrait of Italy is that it looks at the centre as well as the outlying areas, at famous studios as well as emerging structure, avoiding the distinction between the domestic and the public, in a growing scenario that is breaking down every potential boundary between privacy and the communal dimension” is how Luca Molinari describes the Best Italian Interior Design Selection project.
The 350-page volume contains a selection of 84 interior design projects created both in Italy and abroad by Italian designers and is divided into the following categories: retail, private houses, workspace, hotel & leisure, restaurants & bars, art & culture and yachts. The exhibition consists of 30 three-sided Totems on which all the projects are displayed in alphabetical order.
The presentation will feature speakers Luca Molinari, an internationally renowned architectural critic, and Simona Finessi, editor of Best Italian Interior Design by Platform.
The event is being accredited by the Province of Carrara Order of Architects and 1 (3) PTCs will be awarded for the conference and 1PTC for the Exhibition.
