Architect Giorgia Dennerlein, founder of the Loto Ad Project architecture studio, redesigns the Art Suite at Punta Tragara, a 5-star luxury hotel on Capri belonging to the Manfredi Collection group.
The suite ideally opens up to the Capri sea, which enters the room through three spectacular arches. The walls and furnishings are moulded the colour of the sea, allowing the water to become a real pattern in the design.
A total immersion in the blue, supported by a blue-veined onyx floor that meets a strip of agate of the same colour.
The marble band also becomes the noble and architectural element that bisects the space and connects the salle de bains, enclosed behind a wall of wanded glass, with the blue transparent resin bathtub, positioned on the platform in front of the maxi-window.
In correspondence with the bathtub also two bubble chairs, an iconic seat from the 1960s which functions as a suspended nest, transparent bubbles to recapture the lightness of the maritime and holiday atmosphere.
The environment is domotic, worthy of the latest generation of nautical technology, customised by the design studio and made refined and flexible thanks to a concept that breaks down barriers or makes them transparent, and frees the furniture from any constraints with respect to the architectural layout.
The revolving bed, for example, finds its centre in the open space, it is the island within the island on which to set its own course with respect to the horizon, outside and inside the Art Suite.
The Mediterranean is the thread that also unravels in the outdoor design: a small pocket balcony is the obligatory access to the roof terrace.
Here, the white and blue decorations designed by Giò Ponti in 1960 for the Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, dialogue with the skyline, weaving an infinite weft of shades of blue that will frame the evenings of tourists and their guests.
Art, architecture and design define a private universe, a journey through sculptures, furniture and walls that draws heavily from the season of Good Design, conceived to improve life through experiences that combine aesthetics, innovation and functionality.
Loto Ad Project plays with surfaces, uses them to divide or unite, to define moments of life inside this luxurious nest facing the Faraglioni in the Bay of Naples.
