Genova BeDesign Week on the occasion of its fifth edition, from 22 to 26 May 2024 in the historic centre, organised the Anteprima Design Festival event that brought four international archistars to the Ligurian capital. Michele De Lucchi, Fabio Novembre, Clara Bona and Luca Molinari were in fact the protagonists of the three meetings of the event promoted and organised by DiDe with the architecture and design magazine Platform with the support of Genoa City Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Liguria Region. The theme of the cycle of three meetings is “Refuges of the Soul. 3 events, 3 designers, 3 visions on how the design of our homes reflects and transforms us. Dialogues by Platform with Luca Molinari”.
The first event was held in the Sala delle Grida of the Palazzo della Borsa. For the occasion, Michele De Lucchi, founder of the AMDL Circle studio and one of the protagonists of the avant-garde currents in architecture and design since the 1970s, spoke about multidisciplinary design.
The second scheduled meeting was at the Bergamasco Hall of the Genoa Chamber of Commerce with Fabio Novembre, an architect known for founding ‘Novembre Studio’, with which he has been working in the fields of architecture, interiors and design for over thirty years. His projects include buildings for large private institutions, hotels, retail systems and residential projects.
The third and last appointment featured Clara Bona, architect and journalist and founder of Studio98, a small all-female studio dealing with flat renovations, interior design and restyling. The appointment was held at the Auditorium Carlo Felice. The debate focused on the diversity of houses, respecting the place, the context in which they are located and, above all, the personality of those who live in them.
Luca Molinari, architect, critic, curator, Professor of Theory and Architectural Design at the University of Campania ‘Luigi Vanvitelli’ and Editorial Director of Platform, moderated and contributed to the dialogue in all three meetings.
Genoa BeDesign Week will return from 21 to 25 May 2025 and will be officially presented on Thursday 27 June 2024 at 12 noon at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, Piazza Compasso D’Oro, 1
