AAHouse is a project that tells the story of the transformation of a family home into a fluid and contemporary living space, where the dialogue between light, material, and memory creates a harmonious balance. Designed by Alessio Vittori Studio, this radical renovation aims to reinterpret the space with a modern approach while preserving the building’s historical essence and the value of generational continuity.
The intervention was driven by the client’s need to adapt the apartment for a generational transition, creating a space ready to accommodate the evolving dynamics of the family. The project reinterprets the history of the residence in a contemporary key, resulting in fluid and luminous environments, characterized by a sophisticated interplay of materials and volumes.
The spatial layout has been redesigned to foster a seamless connection between different areas, ensuring both functionality and comfort. The entrance opens onto a spacious living area, which blends harmoniously with the kitchen-dining space, forming a welcoming and dynamic environment, ideal for social interactions. The night area consists of two bedrooms and a master suite with a private bathroom and walk-in closet, separated from the rest of the house by an imposing pivoting door in wood covered with resin—an architectural feature that seamlessly combines aesthetics and innovation.
A key feature of the project is the treatment of light and surfaces. Three mirrored brass panels, strategically placed, enhance the perception of space through reflections and visual interplay, dissolving the boundaries between rooms and adding depth to the entire composition.
The design is further enriched by the use of handcrafted resins, custom-made by Agnoni Resine e Consulenze, which bring a tactile and vibrant quality to the interiors. The lighting system, curated by LIP Lighting, highlights architectural details and enhances the interaction between shadows and surfaces, creating an enveloping and sophisticated atmosphere.
The geometric structure of the apartment is further accentuated by light coves integrated into the ceiling, casting warm hues onto the volumes and custom-designed furnishings, which feature delicate shades of green, pink, and yellow. This dialogue between color, material, and craftsmanship defines a refined and contemporary aesthetic, elevating the quality of the design.
The AAHouse project embodies the design philosophy of Alessio Vittori, a designer who has skillfully merged aesthetic research with functionality, shaping a unique architectural language. Born in Cori and trained in Rome, Milan, Verona, and Brussels, Vittori has developed a multidisciplinary approach spanning interior and lighting design, with a particular focus on how light shapes spatial perception.
Today, with his studio and newly established creative space in Cori, he continues to explore and collaborate with local artisans, preserving his family’s deep-rooted connection with craftsmanship—now in its third generation. A heritage built on a passion for wood, materials, and design is reflected in every project, transforming each space into a functional work of art.
