All the numbers of ScaLIurbani 2022

The ScaLIurbani “Mediterranean Connections” exhibition ended with an enormous success in terms of public and visitors; a focus on the port cities of the Mediterranean basin, their problems, social, environmental, cultural and economic policies, seen also from the perspective of the architecture that has tried to build and reconstruct their fabric.
ScaLIurbani stems from the desire of the Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Livorno to focus on and disseminate the culture of architecture, every year on different profiles and themes, this year on the port-cities facing the mare nostrum, hence the theme “Mediterranean Connections”.

All the numbers of ScaLIurbani: 3 days, 1 competition, 13 lectures, 4 talks, 3 exhibitions, 40 guests, 6 nationalities, 3 languages, 11 patronages, 11 partner sponsors, 27 hours ScaLIurbani Life, 1106 minutes of streaming visitors’ views, 1476 streaming visitors’ interactions.

Also noteworthy was the success of the Photography and Drawing Competition “The City and the Sea“, a theme spread over several categories to involve everyone, from children to Professionals.
Here are the names of the winners: for the Professional and Amateur Photographers category, Alessandro Miliotti with “Promesse Intramontabili” and Franco Biondi with “Segni nel Mare” (Signs in the Sea). Honourable mention for Azzurra Biagi with “Lightness, Wonder and Freedom”. For the Middle School Category, Carolina Maribel Altemani took first place with ‘Livorno, porta aperta sul Mediterraneo’. Finally, for the Elementary School Category, first place went to Nora Alonso Alarcon with “Life on the Mascagni Terrace”, second place to Marta Morgè with “Castle on the Sea”, and third place to Gaia Aquaro with “The City in the Blue”. Prizes were then awarded to all the children taking part in the competition, so as to encourage their desire to get involved, with small gadgets and an entrance ticket for the Livorno Aquarium, a facility with which we have established a wonderful collaboration and which provided all the competition-related prizes.
